Upcoming Exhibition: "Recent works III" Featuring paintings by One Off Gallery artists

Recent works III celebrates One Off gallery artists and strives to review significant artists' series from throughout the year.  As we hold no exhibition openings in December, this show carries on throughout the festive period and we feel that the best we have to offer should be on show.

Both Peter Ngugi and Ehoodi Kichapi will exhibit a range of works from a selection made for Nini Gallery in Cape Town.  Peter Ngugi continues his political commentary on the state of the nation with his 'V-Formation', 'Herd Mentality' and 'Tribal Kings' series and draws attention to the LGBT community with 'Rainbow talks Africa'.  Kichapi makes strides towards a much stronger individual voice with his 'Vanity Affair' series.

Beatrice Wanjiku continues her 'Straitjacket' series following the spectacular response she received in New York in the first half of the year.

Meanwhile, a couple of Kamwathis and Brooke's will be displayed from successful shows in August and November respectively.  Both artists portray migrants with Peterson focusing on the European crisis and Timothy painting the Masai herdsmen forced to graze their cattle in the midst of the legendary Nairobi traffic.

Richard Kimathi continues to surprise and to constantly push his personal envelope with new and innovative work.

Florence Wangui will exhibit a series of oil paintings which are a new direction for her.

Peter Elungat plays the scale game;  best known for his monumental canvases, he will exhibit two tiny works.

And finally Chelenge and Harrison Mburu bring some three dimensional interest to the selection.

Please drop in to the gallery over the holidays to see some of the biggest names in Kenya showing together in one space.
