The holidays are all about family and for nearly 80 years families all over the world have spent many happy hours watching the wonderful animated movies that hold a special place in our hearts. Music! Movies! Magic! brings to life all your favourite children’s movies from the classics to the latest hits with over 30 great songs.
Music! Movies! Magic is directed by Rose Cowpar with Vocal Direction by Angela Freer and Choreography by Dominique Teppler. The cast of 23 features G&S favourites and some fantastic newcomers aged from just 8 years old including Phillip Cowie, Zena Bally, Sean Cady, Carmen Alldred, Sarah MacKenzie, Litha Hewitt-Coleman, Aviwe Matikinca and the darling of the Savoy stage, Mieka Swanepoel.
Animated movies have inspired a love of music in children of all ages since Walt Disney released the iconic Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in 1937. In this production some of the most popular movie songs are brought together for an evening with huge appeal for all the family. From classics such as Mary Poppins, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King to the recent smash hits Frozen, Tangled and Monsters Inc. there is something for everyone.
Music! Movies! Magic! runs from the 20th to the 24th of December at the Savoy Theatre. Evening performances from 20th – 23rd will be at 7.00pm with matinees on Thursday 22nd and Saturday 24th at 2.00pm. Tickets are on sale now at all Computicket outlets at just R70 for adults and R50 for children, students and pensioners. Seating will be in rows with reserved seating.
